Mr. Ness, was founder of Ness Crane Service in Ballard, Washington. 12/24/01: First Amendment Rights “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of the press.” When the American founding fathers wrote the First Amendment to the Constitution more than 210 years ago, the only form of mass media was the printed word. As technology evolved, the First Amendment came to cover broadcast media as well as newspapers, magazines and books. A recent court decision in New York has extended those constitutional protections to the World Wide Web. |
