8/2/00: TOPEKA, Kansas — Construction crane toppled at Washburn University

The early afternoon accident crushed a nearby tree and damaged a construction company trailer. The crane was on the construction site for the new living-learning center on campus. No one was injured, but witnesses say the crane made a lot of noise as it fell to the ground. Neither the university administration nor the construction company, McPherson Construction, had any comment on how or why the crane fell over.
